[Reuteb's Special.] AUSTRALIAN. Melboubne, This day. The Orient Company's steamsb ip Sorata has arrived from Adelaide. In the Legislative Assembly last night the Estimates were again dealt with. On the Education vote being proposed, Sir John O'Shaunessy made a strong attack on the education system, and opposed the passage of the vote. v Murray Smith also spoke on the question, and favored the appointment of a Royal Commission to enquire into the means for a redress of the grievances of Roman Catholics under the present sys« tern of public instruction. It is announced that the services of Colonel Seratchley are to be retained by the Victorian Government for another year. ■ ;.. . ; , ■/_■ The Queensland and. Tasmanian Governments have agreed to Bend delegates to the Intercolonial Conference when it meets again in Sydney in January.
