NEW WHAU.

In driving west on the new hanging wall leader it hai opened out into a strong body of quartz. The face of this drive is in a considerable distance from the cross-cut, and a little gold has been seen all the way in. It was from the last breaking down that the speoimens on exhibition yesterday were obtained, and this seems to indicate that westward the gold will make stronger. Over the eastern drive the manager is now oarrying along a leading stope, and when this ia pushed through to the cross-cut rising will be again started. In the stope there is a good body of stone showing, and when woken down colours of gold art always seen ia it. However, excepting the few stones obtained on Tuesdayt nothing very rioh has ye* been seen, bat the prospects are enoouraging.
