Earl Kenmare, a prominent Irish noble* man, who has extensive estates in the county Kerry, near Killarney, has re. ceived threatening letters, in which his life is declared to be in danger. At a meeting which was being addressed by Parnell at Athlone, the platform had been sawn through and oollapsed with the crowd upon it.
A stormy scene has occurred id the French Senate, owing to intense feeling displayed by the members of the Bight on the subject of the decrees for the expulsion of Jesuits from France.
The Times demands the snspenuion of the Habeas Corpus Act in Ireland with a view to more effectually dealing with the present agitation. The American jour* nals, with the exception of the democratic papers condemn the action of Parnell in connection with the agitation in Ireland. The demand for Sir Charles G. Duffy's new historical work, "Young Ireland," has been so great that a second edition will be immediately issued. The troops which were engaged starving out a monastery in Tarsseorn, France, contrived to enter the bnilding by a subway. There has been some rioting at Tcureoing in, the north of Franoe near the Belgian frontier. It is feared that disturbances, are likely to arise at Ballinrobe, in the oounty of Mayo, sixteen miles from Castlebar. The landlords in the locality have expressed their determination to evict tenants who refuse to pay their rents or surrender their farms, and have been threatened with forcible resistance by the land-leaguers. To support the landlords an Orange expedition has been organised in the north of Ireland to proceed to the place to protect the landlords from outrage. Troops have been despatched to the district for the preservation of life and property. The authorities in Ireland fear that serious collisions will occur at Ballinrobe, county Mayo, between the sympathisers with the evicted tenantry and the Orange expedition which is coming to assist some of the threatened-persons. The troops in the district have been strongly reinforced, and there are now 1000 soldiers encamped at the place. The relief party of Orangemen, about 80 in number, from Monsghan, has arrived at Baycooth, Lough mask-house, to-day. They reached Ballinrobe unmolested. A Jorce of 7.C00 military and. police, including artillery, were sent for yesterday, and are now at Ballinrobe and Clare Morristown, county of Mayo.
