Sabbath Breakers.
The Honourable! Mr Holies tan and Bryce, two Ministers of the Crown, had a narrow escape on last Sunday whilst engaged driving in the Taranaki provincial district. The accident should prove a lesson to both gentlemen to observe the fourth commandment in future, but the singular part is that the necessities of travelling on the Sabbath Day is found to be as absolute in this " much neglected " district. Ministers of the Gospel will now have a splendid opportunity of descanting on the conduct of men in high places adopting such an example, especially when it is recollected that one of the breakers of the day of rest;was no other than the Minister of Justice for the colony. The Press Association agent at Taranaki who wired the news must now feel that he committed a grave blunder in publishing the details of the accident, as the infornia* tion may convey the impression that all men in exalted positions in the Government of the country seem to feel a delight in transgressing an important divine command. •..'.-,,,
