News has been received that the captain and crew of the Annie Brooks were murdered in September by the natives of Newstone Island, and that a party of French naturalists were also massaored last month by the natives of Moresby Island.

Death of aa old Colonist
The death is announced to-day of Sir Eedmond Barry, one of the puisne judges of Victoria, aged 62. The deceased had suffered for some time from a carbuncle, which was the cause of his death.
Mr' Berry's Reform Bill will be commenced in the Assembly to-night.
Sydney, Monday. Sir Henry Parkes, the Premier, was elected for East Sydney by a small majority.
