[ The greatest interest was taken in the race for the championship to-day. The attendance of the public, was enormous, the crowds lining the banks of the river I along the course. The betting at the start was. greatly in favor of Hanlon, who was in splendid form. The two men went off with a good start, and in smooth water, Hanlon commencing with 23 and Tricket with 34 strokes a minute. They kept together for half a mile, pulling evenly, but afterwards Hanlon took the lead, and played with Triekett during the last three miles, winning rather easily, fully two lengths ahead.
