Yesterday. CfcristchTLrcfc Races, The Race for the Cup. For the Cup Virginia Water, Lore, Sir | Modred also ran. It was an exciting and well contested race. Le L«up came down the straight hands down, winning easilj by three lengths, with Foal Flay second. Virginia Water ran up third to post, but just then Norseman came with a rush, and appropriated the barren honor. Lure was fifth, and Sir Modred last. The time was 4mins. 9secs, Selwng Eace.—Lara (£200), York (£100). This race resulted in a dead heat between Lara and York. Maria Antoinnette also ran. AH the others were scratched. Gband Stand Handicap.—Billings* gate, 1; Natator, 2; Betrayer, 3. Marxtana, Libeller, and Miss Domette also ran. After a good race Billingsgate was landed a winner by a lemgth, the same 'distance separating ill© second and think Time, Imin. 44sees.
The Sailing Hack Race won by: Mischief.
