Thames Jockey Club.
The meeting of the members of the Jockey Club was; held at the Governor Bowen Hotel last night. There was a large attendance, and Captain Fraiet was in thojft Chair. ♦ •. Wj , The Chairman said he had written for the new rules of the Auckland Club, and had taken steps to procure other information which would be of benefit to the Club.. He said it .would probably be the best course to take, as the present meeting was a large and representative one, to? nominate the officers and members of the Committee. Mr Spenoer proposed thai Captain Frager be President and Mr ferry VicePresident, which being seconded was carried unanimously. . .... , The followinggentlemen were nominated a Committee:—Messrs. MeCullougb, Darrow, Bpencer, Townsend, Welle, Neal, Pearoe, Hogg, McDonnell, Gellion, But* ler, Casey and Bobbett. * The appointment of a Secretary, at * salary of £10 10s, was left to the Committee. Mr A. Hogg was appointed Treasurer, and'" Messrs Hume . and Gillespie auditors. ' Mr Lawless having placed the large room at his shop,-Brown street, at the disposal of the Ulub, it was reaeived to hold the nett meeting there. Many subscriptions were handed.to the Treasurer, after which the meeting broke
