PALMERSTON NORTH.
Friday. An inquest was held today on the body of Isabella <Juthrie, aged 18 months, daughter of the teacher of the Karere School, and granddaughter of the Hon. Mr Bryce. The evidence adduced showed that the child last week ate phosphorus from matches, and was taken very ill. A doctor was called in and she apparently got quite well,, but* had a relapse on Tuesday, and died yesterday. A verdict was returned that death was the result of poisoning from phosphorus.
