ACCEPTANCES FOE THE CUP.

The following are the acceptances for the Cop :—Burghley, Faubleas, Lothair, Workman, Banter, Wandering Jew, Flaneur Avernus, Geraldine, Mate, Stag, Columbus, Napper, Progress, Hamilton, Respite, Adventurer, Darriwell, Nellie, Pawnbroker, Imperial, Trevallyn, Stookbridge, Woodlands, Bosworth, Richmond, Rirerdon, Elastic, Secundus, Lord Burghly,* Lisgar, Chester, Martindale, and Auckland.

Mata is now being backed 100 to 5. Melbourne, This day.

The following additional acceptances for the Cup are announced:—Mater (? First Water), Rivalry, Eothschild and Totalisator. The total final acceptances are 37.

The Conversazione at the Exhibition last night was a complete success. 13,030 persons were present. The build* ing was illuminated by electric lights. Many ot the Courts, including that of New Zealand were closed. ,

The question of opening' the Exhibition at night is being much discussed. Sir Herbert Sand ford, British Com uissioner, has protested agaiqst it being done.
