COMPULSORY EDUCATION.
(To the Editor of the Eybnin* Btab.) Sib, —I perceive that the compoltory clauses of the Education Act are to ba brought into force in Auokland, methinki the same measure might with advantage be introduced in this district. One head school teacher has to my knowledge, recently called the attention of the police to the number of larrikins infesting his school precincts daring the hoars of play and study. In Auokland a constable in plain clothes is to be detailed for the duty of hunting up children of school age who run wild in the streets. Probably if our committees took the matter up, aa officer might be granted for a similar purpose.—l am, &0., PiTirFAICIMiI,
