For the last' 10 or 15 feet of driving the lode has been pinched and in hard ground, but as water is now issuing from the back in considerable quantities, the manager thinks there will shortly be a change—in the siz< [of the reef at any rate. There is still 55 feet yet to go ere the Moanatairi slide is reached.
