(FBOM OUB OWN CQBBESPONDENTS.)

It is very pleasing to be able to speak well of one's district and its prospects, and I can safely say that Tapu has now from one or two circumstances, as fair a prospect before it as any district in the province of Auckland. Within the last week, Seilly and party, who have been out prospecting for tome time, have come upon some capital stone, showing gold, but as yet have not got any defined reef, still the indications..are very favorable. This fact hps so encouraged people here that Mr Dillon, a resident of Tapu in the early days, but who has been in Fapier for some years, has organised'a party to to.tprospect the back ranges. He has always held the opinion that some rich country existed at the back of Tepu, and it was principally to test the country that he again took up.his residence in this district.
