Iv the match Australians v. the Players of England, the latter in their second ', innings, scored 82, all out. Palmer and : Boyle again bowled well, the former | taking fire, and the latter three wickets. \ The Australians then requiring 30 more ! runs to win the match, went in for their second innings, and when the stumps 1 were drawn for the day, had put together ten runs for three wickets down. There was a thick haze over the ground all day, which seriously interfered with the play. Later. The Australians versus Players was resumed this morning. Spofforth, who was absent Monday and Tuesday, to-day went to the wicket in place of Bannerman, and was caught out when he had put together 21 runs. Play is now proceeding. The Latest. London, September 29. The Australians have won the match against the Players by two wickets. The bowling of the Home team was dead on the wicket, and eight Australians were disposed of before the required number of runs (40) were obtained. The weather today is fine.
