A MISSING PRIZE WINNER.

One would imagine that there were few in. the world who, having won - 150,000f., would abstain from claiming them. This, however, has been the case in the Franco Spanish lottery, where the fortunate possessor of No, 2,803,490, which won the grand prize, has not yet E resented it. Though the ticket has not een forthcoming, the President of the Lottery Committee has nevertheless been overwhelmed with letters claiming the prize, and has been almost worried to death by the persistant assurance of hundreds of people that the prize winner was one of the tickets they bought, but which, in some inexplicable manner, they either lost, burnt, or mislaid. One of these winners, a.certain Major Bouillaud, of Chapelle St. Martian, in the department of the Creuse, went further than the rest, and placed an injunction on the 150,000 francs, m order to give him time to ransack his house to find the ticket lost. This worthy has just had all his hopes dashed to the ground; the tribunal which was applied to to settle the question has given judgment against him, for, according to the Ministerial decree authorising the lottery, it was stipulated that any prizes remaining unclaimed for three months after the drawing should revert to the object for which the lottery was instituted, that, is to say, the one hundred and fifty thousand francs were ordered to be divided between the Paris poor and the sufferers by the Murcia inundations.
