The mine manager reports thst he has continued sinking the winze during the week on the hanging-wall of the reef. It is now down a distance of 43ft. below Whau level. On account of the large size of the reef, he thought it advisible to sink the winze on the hanging-wall portion of the reef, in order to reach the 70ft. level as soon as~ possible.—lntermediate Level: The reef here is not so largo as last reported, but is of a more compact appearance, still showing good colors of gold when broken down 70ft. level.
