The s.s. City.of New York, with the London mails of 12th August;, left San Francisco on the 28th, being two days before her contract date. The Zealandia, wilu the August colonial mails, arrived at San Francisco on the Bth inst., one day in advance of contract date.
At a meeting of the Racing Club the following programme was arranged for the Annual Meeting :-— First day : Maiden Plate of 50 soys; Wellington Cup, 400 sots ; -Flying Stakes of 50 soys; Hurdle Kace of 50 soys, and Hack Race. Second day : Empire Plate, 100 soys; Hutt Park Stakes, 75 soys; Hurdle Handicap, 75 soys ; Racing Club Handicap, 200 soys; Ladies' Purse, 30 soys; Hack Race, Consolation Stakes of 20 soys. The racing is fixed for the 3rd and 4th of February.
Criminal Sessions. . The Criminal Sessions of the Supreme Court commenced before Justice Johnston this morning. His Honor congratulated the Jury on the light calendar, there being only fire prisoners to stand trial.
The Crown Prosecutor withdrew the indictments) against H.Munn for indecent assault. The Grand Jury found true bills against Doreen for cuttiug and wounding, Nicholson burglary, Clifford perjury, and Mary Corrison larceny. Doreen's case is proceeding.
