NEW NORTH DEVON.

I hear that the mysterious disappearance of the tributers' shot of gold has at last been accounted for. Preparations were being made for sinking a winze from the tributers' old workings which necessitated cutting intp the supposed mullock of the footwall, when it was found that there was a large body of quartz behind the seam of clay which had been aken as the footwall of the reef. A little quartz broken from which was selected several very nice specimens. This.discovery will not cause a deviation in the hitherto arranged plan of opening works.
