GOLDEN BAR.
During the past week extra hands have been engaged in this mine, and considerable progress has been made in opening out upon the several lodes di«covered. The shaft is now down 14 feet in a fine mineralised country, and the Two-Fingered lode may be expected to hand during the forthcoming week. In the drive going north the east and west lode has been intersected coming in at top of drive. From this lode good Jesuits are expected from the splendid class of country forming the walls. The drive going south-west upon the leader is in some distance, yery much improving as the advance is made from the influence of the blow. This leader, although small at present, has every likelihood of developing into a rich lode, with soft bands of clay on each side, with black veins run* ning from the hanging-wall. From the indications in hand, and the good progress made in opening out something very good may turn up at any moment.
