NEW PLYMOUTH.
Last night. MORE MAORI ARRESTS.
Last evening a guard arrived in town having in custody two Maori prisoners, The natives, when taken, were very sulky, and would scarcely speak, but after they were put in, the ten prisoners became exceedingly jovial, freely crocking jokes with the Constabulary, and in every way testifying their delight at the novel change in their position. The natives are again assembling at Parihaka. Large | numbers passed through the town this morning, carrying with them supplies of food, etc. DUNEDIN. Last night. THE KYEBURN TRAGEDY.—THE VERDICT. At an inqieet at Kyeburn on the murder of Mrs,, Young, an open verdict was returned. A rider was added recommending the Government to offer a reward, as it was hopeless to expect to convict without the assistance of the Chinese. ■
