A severe shock of earthquake was felt here at 3 o'clock this morning, it was the heaviest experienced for years past. At the Supreme Court the case of Climie v. the Corporation, which pecupied two days, was withdrawn from, the jury. The enquiry into the accident of the barque Malay is proceeding.
At the Education Board to-day it was stated that the funds were in such a position that no reductions in the salaries would be made before the beginning of the year.
The motion that the Bible be read in schools was withdrawn. . .
Last night.
Au enquiry re the striking of the barque Malay off the Heads will be held to-morrow.
