MINT.

This mine was visited today. .I found ■ that the contractors are making goed progress with the extension of the Middle Star tunnel, which is in a first-class state of repair.' The lode in the face is about 2£ feet thick, and bears such a close resemblance to the Sons of Freedom lode .that I think it must, be identical with that body of stone. The quartz is close grained and contains the usual concomitants of gold. About 20 feet back from the face is auother lode, which also shows good mineral indications.
