There is nothing particularly fresh in the mine though the crushing is showing considerable improvement. The manager's weekly report is as follows:— " Point Bussell: In breaking down reef at Creek level strong colors of gold were seen, and the country is not so tight as lately. The stuff from here has not yet been treated. We have how driven 20 feet along the lode, which is one foot thick, and payable. At the 100 feet level a cross-cut has been, put in 12 feet, and a drill hole eight feet. We have also put in another on south side, but without discovering anything. Driving ahead is therefore resumed, and there is 65 feet further to get under winse sunk from level above. Tunnel level.—Rising has been started on Golden Age reef, and we are now up 12 feet in hanging-wall. At present there are nice looking leaders of quartz dropping into the reef. This work will be carried on by two shifts, and the dimensions of the rise are eight feet by four feet, which will give ample space for a doable line of rails. Nonpareil crosscut is going through close light country, and 18 feet' has been driven this week. The course has now been altered more to the west, which will save 15 feet in reaching our ground, and also get on seaward side of slide. We are still 32 feet from our boundary, and about this point I expect to pick up the slide again. 80 feet level: Footwall branch of No. 3 reef east of No. 2 slide.—Driving west is suspended, the leader being small and in tight country. In the stbpe above colors of gold are seen and the stuff is payable. In western, cross-cut No. 1 leader, as driven on east, is now one foot thiok Vnd much improved. I think a payable block, of qqartz is being opened up here for stoping. At intermediate and tunnel levels there arelfive, stopes in a width of 6G feet, and other payable leaders have been discovered in the horse of ground. These branches though small are occasionally rich, being like a small seam of gold. Our general crushing is showing an improvement upon last return. —I am, etc., Bobt. Cons."
