The prisoners Reilly, father and two sons, for sticking up Police Magistrate Hearns, have been brought up before the Court, and remanded for eight days. There appears to have been a long standing feud between Hearns the elder and Eeilly, the latter claiming £309 on account of certain land selections. Doubts are entertained as to the sanity of the •lder prisoner.
Ned Kelly- continues to progress towards recovery from his wounds. His demeanour is quiet. It is expected he will appear in Court in a fortnight. No one is allowed to see him, although hundreds of! applications have been received.
Sydney, July 14. Mr Driver's funeral, on the 9th, was largely attended. Nearly 250 vehicles followed the hearse.
\ Sixty sailors are absent from Her Majesty's ships Raleigh and Wolverine without leave, and are being searched for by the police. Some correspondence on the Chinese questions was tabled on the Bth, including a Hong Kong telegram saying that Governor Kennedy bad stopped deportation of criminals three years ago. -
