ALBURNIA.
Sons of Freedom tunnel.—No work is in progress here at present, the last 100 feet can tract having been completed during the week. About a foot or eighteen inches of the lode is very promising looking. It is probable that another; contract will beletshbrtlyV 160 feet level.— Driving towards the New North Devon boundary continued, and a splice which has somewhat shaken the/lode has just been crossed. There Js rib change to report in connection with stopping operations at this level. Intermediate. —This block though now becoming very small is still: producing high trade dirt. I believe that the next source of supply of rich quartz will be Dixon's section which the management is now, rapidly, opening up. 'The winze sank on the lode from Whau level has met with most encouraging jresplts and as the.lode is intact from the Wban 1 level downwards there is plenty of "'quartz for some time to come.
