t Last sight. THE LATE MINK ACCIDENT AT KUMARA—RECOVERY OF THE BODIES.
After a most hazardous work the recovery party discovered the body of Dennis Whelan yesterday afternoon, at one o'clock, but it was after 11 o'clock at night before the body was thoroughly released and brought to the surface. An examination of the body conclusively proved that death must have been instantaneous.
The body of John Whelan was found in close proximity at one o'clock today, but although every exertion was used the body is not yet out, as the ground is very dangerous tor the party at work. It is expected to be brought to the surface tonight, i CumminS, one of the injured men, is now in the hospital, but his life is despaired of. He is sinking rapidly.
