The heavy floods have not caused so much damage to the railway line in this district as anticipated. The Duntroon branch is flooded at Black Point, and the train was unable to run tSis afternoon, but as soon as the water subsides, traffic will be resumed. No dsraagv has been done to the line
The trains between Timaru and Oamaru were impeded at Waimate junction, but the damage was repaired ia time to allow ?the Ohristchurch, .express to come through.
