A St. Louis paper says that the sight of a bank cashier, hastening to a railroad station, is enough to start a run on his bank in some places, so many of them have run off with the funds.
Said a railroad president to a conductor: '• A man should keep himself unspoited if he wants to keep the confidence of his employers." " That's so," responded the conductor: "if I could keep myself • unspotted ' I could make a fortune."
