MOANATAIRI.
The following is the munager's weekly report:—" 80ft level: In driving crosscut west from No. 2 slide another leader, 10 inches thick, hns been intersected. This has a promising appearance, but before driving on it the drive will be pushed through to No. 3 for ventilation, and also to do away with trucking through the present level, which, being near the main slide, is expensive to keep open. The branch from No. 3 reef at junction of Nos. 1 and 3is a foot thick.. It is payable staff, and occasionaly yields a few pounds of picked stone. The slopes above this level on No. 3 reef (which, I may mention, are in the Homeward Bound section) still yield good stuff. Prospecting drives from here have been put into the walls to obtain mullock for filling stopes, and also to ascertain whether any side leaders exist. The stopes above tunnel level are without % any change to mention. Nonpareil crosscut is now in tighter country, and 25ft have been driven during the week. The creek water which supplies the drill, and also the air, soon corrodes the pipes of wrought iron through which it is conveyed. We are now putting in cast iron pipes through Morning Star shaft, as the water has not the same effect upon cast iron. Point Russell: There iB no change to mention. The general crushing is showing about equal to our l«st return.—Robebt Combb, June 26,1880." .• ■ .
