MOANATAIRI.
The manager's weekly report is as follows:—" Tunnel level: In driving east on No. 1, Golden Age reef, the lode is three feet thick, and good compact stone, carrying mundic on hanging-wall part. After testing it at the battery, it is satis* factory to find this stuff contains gold, although not in payable quantities. The same reef going west is two feet thiok, chiefly composed of clay, with a little quartz. Nonpareil cross-cut has been extended 25 feet this week, including 10 feet of a hard bar. There is now good country in face, and better progress will be made. 80 feet level: There is no change in crosscut west, except that we have intersected a leader m footwall about the junction of Nos. 1 and 3 reefs. This lode is 8 inches thick, and shows good colours of gold. The staff from it will be payable. The stopes above this level are looking better than previously, having got into same run of country as about intermediate level, where leaders and small veins strike off in all directions. Occasionally these are heaved quite horizontally, and, although small, produce some, rich stone. The stopes above tunnel level are without change. Point Eussell section: No. 3 winze is now down 48 feet below creek level, and water is making through fissures in the rook. Sinking has been suspended until 100 feet level is extended sufficiently to drain off this water. The men will now be employed in driving the creek level ahead. 30 head of stampers are employed on the company's stuff, which is showing up well tor an improvement upon the last return.— Kobt."Comee, June 12,1880.
