WELLINGTON.
This day.
The Missing Schooner.
The Hinemoa has returned from her search for the missing schooner Colleen Bawn. No traces of her were found. A portion of wreck was found on Stevens' Island, but they belonged to the schooner Merlin, which was lost on the island some months ago. Tbe last seen of the Colleen Bawn was on the 6th May, when she was spoken by the schooner Old Jack, and advised her to run for shelter to Port Underwood as it was likely to be a dirty night.. Subsequently a south-east gale sprung up, and the supposition is that the little vessel foundered.
Nces, manager of tbe Nydia Bay saw* mill at Havelock, was a passenger by the schooner Colleen Bawn, supposed to be lost.
The publicans held a meeting this afternoon to discuss the Licensing Bill now before Parliament.
