RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THIS DAY. (Before H. Kenrick, Esq., R.M.) James Victor Oliver was brought up on adjournment, charged with being a neglected child. Sub-Inspector Kenny said he had made enquiries of the police in Auckland, and had found out that the mother of the lad was an idle, drunken prostitute. The lad's story was more to be believed than that of his mother. His Worship sent the lad to the Training School for two years. ; Mr Ehrenfried said he hoped the maintenance of the lad would be charged to the Auckland authorities, and not to the Thames. Court adjourned. •
