WELLINGTON.

Last night.

Owing to the heavy rains a land slip occurred on the Wellington-Greytown line to-day. Communication was interlupled, but it is expected the debris will be cleared to-night and running resumed tomorrow.

A telegram has been received by Government to-day from Mr Parris to the effect that Te Whiti has issued orders that the whare in course of building by the natives on disputed territory is to be discontinued forthwith and no more undertaken.
