THE RISE Off ABDUL EAHMAN. ATTACK ON A DEPOT.
(Peb s.s. Tabaeua at TBtE Bluff.) Bombay, April 22. Abdul Bahman, grandson of Dost Mahommed, appears to be the coming man of Afghanistan irdars. People are joining him from every side. Even the followers of Mahommed Khan are xJ deserting to him. Abdul Bahman is making a triumphant progress in Afghanistan. Great anxiety is caused in Cabul by the movement. It* is reported that influential chiefs m ; Turkestan are prepared to receive him as King. It is clear that henceforth we shall have to deal with him' as a leader of the coalesced, tribes.
Major Wandley, with two orderlies, l 7 Bombay native infantry, and several Kandahars, 28 in all, were attacked at a smell commissariat depot, about 50 miles from Kandahar, by about 300 men, principally Durain tribes. Major Wandley and all but one or two were killed. No political significant is attached to this circumstance, being clearly.the work of raiders.
