Mr Keid addressed his constituents at the Town Hall on Saturday night. He reviewed the history of the fall of the Grey Government, and the advent of the Hall Ministry. He explain: d the measures passed last session, and condemned the Property Tax, as inquisitorial and expensive to collect, and otherwise objectionable. He said the fatal mistake made by the Opposition was in deposing Grey from the leadership. He reviewed the. propos. \ ministerial measures as far as known, and said he would support the new Licensing Bill if the principle of local option was intended to be applied to the new licenses. He condemnr-1 the stopjpago of subsidies to local bodies as a breach of faith, aud r'diculed the system of Government by commission.. A unanimous vote of confidence was given.
