REUBEN PARR.
The company for working this mine has been floated in a highly successful manner, and as will be seen there is already a demand for shares. The Reuben Parr, which contains 31 men's ground, is situated between the Alburnia and Dauntless, and through it runs a number of reefs and leaders, some of which were worked by the Twenty-third of June, Tradesman, City of Dublin, Unicorn, as the Reuben Parr, or portions of it, have been called from time to time. The works now in progress are: driving on the Unicorn lede, and the driving of a low level tunnel. I was shown to-day some samples of the stoae from the reef, which, it may be mentioned, is of a large size. The stone-had no particular trait about it with the exception that it was very heavy, and if at all auriferous, gave no outward indication. Any unfavorable impression however was removed by the result of a test which yielded a splendid prospect —such a one as might be expected from a reef that has yielded its 10 and 20 ounces per ton. A trial crushing of 10 or 20 tons will shortly be sent to the mill.
