The Adamant sailed yesterday with a cargo of wool and tallow, value £55,812. Removal of the R.H. at Wairoa.
Great satisfaction is expressed by the Wairja settlers at the removal of Ebenezer Baker, EM. The petition for his reinstatement was poorly signed. Carriage Accident. As Seymer Tailored, son of Sir Thomas, was driving in a buggy and pair into town on Saturday, he was run into by a Maori on horseback. The collision broke the carriage pole, and the horses bolted, one breaking his leg, and had to be shot. The occupants of the carriage were uninjured.
