RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT

THIS DAY.. (Before H. Kenrick, Esq., E.M.J CIVIL SIDE. - Judgment fob Plaintiffs. James Marshall v. O. M. Creagh— claim, £39 4s Bd, for goodß supplied. Mr Miller appeared for the plaintiff, and stated that the debt without the eostsjhad been paid into court. They wished to obtain judgment for the costs also, £1 ss. HANSEN V. B. CABHEL. Claim, £5 9s Bd, costs 19s. THOEPE T. C. MACDONALD. Claim £4 15s, amount of a promissory and interest. Mr Miller appeared for the plaintiff. The defendant deposed that the plaintiff bad consented not to charge interest on

tbe promissory note. He said he did not think interest bad been charged. He did not say he would take it oft. The plaintiff had not credited him with a few shillings. His Worship deducted the interest, and gave judgment for £4 7s 6d and costs. HANBEN V. HENEIIIIY. Claim, £6 15s, goods. Judgment confessed; costs 19s. Judgment Summon^.

NODDEE V. GODWIN. This was a claim for £3 9s, amount of of a judgment summons, for rent. Henry Godwin deposed that he was a bushtnan, and had been in the employ of Mr Christie of the Kauaeranga bush. When he worked full time he obtained 30s per* weeilc and found. For the last year he had only averaged 249 a week, and out of that he had to support a family of five. None of his children were working, .and he was not in a position to pay. His Worship said he could not make an order on the evidence adduced.
