The Atlanta Safe.

\ Commodore Wilson, of Her Majesty's ship Wolrerine, has received a cable message to the effect that the British training ship Atlanta, which had been missing since the end of January from Bermuda, arrived at her destination all safe. The cause of the delay is unstated. A Stabbing Affray. Abel Fletcher was charged with assaulting Mr Marlin with a knife. He was fined 40s and costs, with the alternative of two months' imprisonment, and he was also to find sureties to keep the peace. A cross information against Mr Marlin for a criminal assault on Mrs Fletcher was withdrawn. " All the members of the Civil Service Commission are now here, and commence to-morrow with an examination of the Eailway Works Officials.

Saturday. It is reported from Alexandra, that Te Huia, Tawhiao's eldest daughter, has eloped from Hikurangi. It is supposed she is .come here after a lover of hers, whom her papa strongly disapproved of. There have been no end of enquiries at Alexandra for a Government representative of the Native Department to have her returned, but no such person exists.
At the meeting of the Board of Education yesterday, an application for a new school at Tapu, and oae to keep open the Eureka School, Thames, were referred to the Executive Committee.
