RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT

(Before H. Kenrick, Esq., E.M.) • FAILING TO StJPPOBT. John Fitzgibbons was brought up on a warrant, charged with failing to support his wife and children. He was also charged with disobeying a summons. He was sentenced to two months imprisonment with hard labour. DBUSK AND INCAPABLE. One man was brought up on this charge but was discharged on account of being locked up since Saturday. CBUELTY TO ANIMALS. James Tuck was charged with illusing a cow by allowing it to remain in a swamp from Friday until Monday. The defendant pleaded not guilty. This case was adjourned until to-morrow. BBEACH Or BOBOUGH BYE-LAW. Charles Pyne was charged with committing a breach of the bye-laws, by slaughtering a pig on his premises in Owen street. The defendant pleaded guilty, but said that the animal's legs were bad, and it was necessary to kill it. Fined Is and costs. lABBIKINISM. James Robinson, William Mann, J. McCurdy, David Macky, and William Dick were charged with wilfully teasing and annoying John Moon. The Magistrate adjourned the case until to-morrow, on account of his having to attend a Court at Paeroa.
