At a special meeting of the City Council held last night to consider a letter received from the manager of the Bank of New Zealand on the subject of the bank accounts, it was resolved that the various banks be asked as to^what terms they are prepared to do the banking account of the Corporiation, and what rate of interest they will give for money bow lying at call at the Bank of New Zealand.

It is understood Charles O'JSTeill, C.E., has instituted proceedings against the Corporation of Wanganui, claiming £2000 damages for infringing his patent for Caithness flagging. >
