NEW WHAU.
301b of picked stuff from the bottom of the winze were got to-day, gold shewing freely. The winze and the rise will join on Saturday, there being only 9 feet to sink and risfe. On the 90ft or low level, the drive alongside is in 30 feet in good country. The quartz has the same appearance as that in the winze, and there is every indication of gold being got when the reef is broken down. Above the 70ft level the Alburnia manager is stoping up to the Whau boundry, leaving a fine body of quartz full of ruby silver and other minerals. * :
