The Government have received a London advice that £1,100,000 of the £5,000,000 loan have been converted into 4 per cent, subscribed stock, under the Consolidated Stock Act, 1877. RESIGNATION OF THE MEMBER FOR WAITAKI. It is stated here, that Mr Hislop, the member for Waitaki, will resign his seat owing to pressure of private business. This day. Sunday Trading. At the EM, Court this morning the proprietors of the Prince of Wales Hotel, Torey street, and the White Swan Inn were fined £2 for Sunday trading.
