OHINEMURI.
, (FHOM A CORRESPONDENT.)
Waitekaubi, 21 April.
Of late thare has been very little mining doing here. The Waitekauri CompanyBrown and Bleszard, have decided to dispose of their property, including the fine battery and mine, and it is stated generally that Mr E. M. Corbett, the company's manager is about to become the proprietor. It is to be hoped that mining will be better attended to in the future than in the past. All the Waitekauri tributers have been doing well during the past six months, and if proper attention had been paid to the battery management and more encouragement given to miners generally, there is no doubt but that the returns would be even more satisfactory. HdJUs and party had lately a, .crushing of 30 tons which yiolded 90ozs gold. Bullen had a crushing of 80 tons wnich yielded OOozs gold. Heitman, of the Welcome crushed 60 (ous for 78ozs gold, and prospectors working in the creeks obtained a return of 22ozs from 6 tons, all of which averages wiil compare favorably with any returns in the peninsula.
