This day. The Stewards of the Wellington Spring Meeting have fixed it for the end of November, but nothing has been definitely settled, until the annual meeting to be held shortly. A number of men have arrived from the country seeking employmeat,
It is stflted that the police made a raid on the hotels yesterday and have laid information against five ibr Sunday trading.
The Fire Brigade. In consequence of the fire brigades disbanding last nighfc, the City Council have decided that the corporation employees should hold themselves in readiness to act'as firemen until more permanent arrangements can be made. .
