HegSxding the fracas outside the Club last evening, the police bare summoned Messrs: Percy Adams, Langly, Acton Adams, Bunny, and Teschemaker for creating a breach of the peace. -An enquiry will be held to-night. i Embezzlement "by an Insurance <■%< Agent, '■■'-'"' At the Magistrate's Court this afternoon, Mr Qarter "Webb, late local manager for the N.Z. Insurance Company, was charged, on remand, with embezzling £6 17s> belonging to his employers. After some evidence had 1 been given, tb« accused admitted the charge, and was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labor. At a fire which destroyed Garner's Hotel, at Kirtleburn, £220 in money was losti : Rough on a Member of the House. At a public meeting last night there was a crowded attendance, and Messrs Bunny and Pitt were present. The latter got some correspondence between Adams, and he had the former gave a statement of his conduct re the proceedings, against Acton Adams. Amongst the resolutions passed were that the evidence in the case be laid before the Minister for Justice, and that Adams be requested to resign his seat in the ■ House. . .--... ■■■■■■■'-.. :. . ■.■■.'
