Pleuro-Pneumonia in the Waikato.
On Monday last Inspector Eunciman and Veterinary Surgeon Naden proceeded to Mr Burkes farm at Te Awainutu, caused three beasts to be slaughtered, two of which were in a very advanced stage of pleuro, the other affected to a lesser extent. There are several other beasts on the farm, which we hear should have been destroyed, and we trust that in the face of the rapid spread of the disease no quarter will be given to anybody whatever. A number of settlers were present at the post mortem examination, and evinced naturally great interest in the proceedings.
