Thames Harbor Board.

The fortnightly meeting of the Board was held yesterday afternoon. There were present—the Mayor (Chairman), Messrs Brown, Wilson, Graham, Osborne, McGowan. • FOBEBHOBE ALLOTMENT. A letter was read from Mr Perry, stating that he found that the allotment on the foreshore which ho had leased was covered with water at full tide, in consequence of which he asked that the lease be taken off his hands. After some discussion the matter was left in the hands of Mr Dean. HABBOB BYELAWS. The Sub-Inspector of Police .wrote asking if ihe bye-laws re driving on the wharf had been repealed. The Secretary was directed to giro the required information. .The Secretary to the Marine Department wrote stating that Government could not give legal advice regarding bye-laws. BUBKE STBEET WHABF. The Harbor Master reported that one of the fender piles was projecting, and caused damage to vessels. He also suggested the removal of one of the iron rails to make the dray track wider. The matters contained in the letter were left in the hands of the Chairman and Mr ■McGowan. . THOSE GBEEDY NEWSPAPEBS.

A number of accounts were passed for payment, after which the Chairman spoke on the largeness of the advertising accounts, which he characterised as horrible.

Mr Dean said that the newspapers had agreed to maintain a uniform charge. Mr McGowan considered that the charges were reasonable. ■

After some further conversation the matter dropped.

THE PBOPOSED LOAN".

Mr Graham reported that an Auckland capitalist who was going home promised to see what could be doce in the English market re the Board's debentures. The manager of the National Bank had offered to send the debentures home and endeavor to get them floated.

After some dispussion it was resolved that Mr Graham be empowered to arrange for the floating of the loan, it being likewise decided to call for tenders for printing debentures, should Mr Graham's reply, when he returned to Auckland, be satisfactory. This concluded the business.
