Fbom the application made by Messrs Grant and Foster to the Waste Lands Board for an additional area of land in the Te Aroha block, it may be gathered that they are favorably impressed with the quality of the land ia the Upper Thames. The opinion of these gentlemen is of considerable value, for they have exceptionally good opportunities of judging of the lands in New Zealand, and so far, we believe they have not asked for land for settlement in any other part of the colony. We are pleased to see that the Waste Lands Board are inclined to meet the wishes of the Lincolnshire delegates, so the prospect of another Broomhall escapade is removed. The location of a number of settlers of the class which Messrs Grant and Foster state they represent could not fail in having a beneficial effect upon the future of the Upper Thames district, and would be also an advantage to the whole province. A few months will determine the matter, whether we are to have our waste landa occupied by most desirable colonists, or have to depend upon men from our midst, "many of whom are possessed of limited means. The Board complying with the request of the delegates prevents it being said obstacles had been thrown in their way, so that there is every probability of a number of Lincolnshire people coming to the colony through the representations of their delegates, Messrs Grant and Foster.
