Mining Review of the Week.
The Easter holidays at the beginning of the week caused an abnormal quietness in the share market from which it is only now beginning to recover. Since last Saturday there has been little or no alteration in the leading stocks, with the exception of the, Alburnia, which rangt about 108 lower. Whaus show an in« crease in ralue of 2s 6d. The last crushing of the latter company brings the yield for the month's operations up to 12700z5, and the directors hate declared a dividend of os. This is not bad for a mine that has been only working a month, but the yield from next month can hardly be expected to be so good. The directors of the New North Devon and Columbia companies bare . decided on putting through a quartz pass connecting with the Sons of freedom level, thereby providing them with an outlet for the mines independent of the Alburnia, with the exception of the tunnel. The shareholders in the Devon are very sanguine, and the shares are increasing in value as the tributers' term draws to a close.
The Big Pump has been idle several daya this week in consequence of one of the clacks getting out of order.
